Can you Feel God? How do you feel God?
By Deepika Avanti
I always wanted to touch God, to feel God, see God, hear God,
and know God, be loved by God starting at about age five. I asked and asked for this, as well as to experience Christ. After about fifteen years of asking, I gave up and started practicing meditation, and Buddhism.
I searched the world for God though, and finally at age fifty, I felt God, or in actuality, I noticed that I felt God. I had felt God many times before this, but I had not recognized that I received what I was looking for, for forty five years! For this reason, I wrote this article, a book with forty guided meditations, Embracing the Miraculous, Attaining Optimal Health on All Levels, plus created a fifty minute movie, Embracing the Miracuous, 6 Guided Meditations to Find God so everyone would feel God and recognize their experience with God, because this experience is so life changing.
Step one is to ask God to feel God and God’s love.
Step two is to learn to meditate.
First you need to relax by tightening all of your muscles, holding 15-30 seconds, then relaxing and repeating this several times. You need to relax, so that you can become aware of physical changes in your sensing, and feeling. Sit in a comfortable position, relaxed. Notice your body touching your seat, notice your feet touching the ground. To feel God, you need to be in your body, grounded in your body.
Meditation often is about focusing on your breath, music, a mantra, or images in a guided meditation, so that the mind is focused, calm, and open.
When your body and mind are relaxed and open, then you are able to receive and notice changes.
When God, wants to get my attention, energy, like a ten mile an hour wind comes through me, head to feet, heaven to earth, and an inner voice accompanies this. I feel unconditionally loved and saturated with a feeling of bliss. Some people feel this energy earth to heaven, feet to head.
The two most important ingredients to feel God, is to ask for this, and to be receptive by being quiet, still, relaxed, open, aware, and noticing subtle changes happening in your body.
My hope is that everyone is able to feel God seeing my movie, or following the guided meditations in my book. To feel God is one of the most elating, loving experiences that carries me through my day. I feel loved and supported regardless of what is externally happening and know whatever is happening will benefit me on some level. To feel God is easy. To feel God is much more powerful than believing in God. To feel God will change your life in every way
